PSP Go!

The PSP Go Cam is great for taking regular pictures and movies, is easy to use, lightweight, portable, and generally does the things you’d expect of a regular camera… but don’t expect awesome picture quality though, as it’s only slightly better than your average mobile phone camera.

Think of it as a mobile phone camera with digital camera features.

In this vid review, I take a look at the things it can do. And since I’m a cheap-ass bastard that won’t pay a single cent for video hosting, please just download the review and watch it at your own leisure.

Spoiler-free InviZimals Review, baby!!!

Welcome to our spoiler-free review of PSP’s InviZimals game.

Tatsumi: What is InviZimals?

Nikko: It’s an Augmented Reality game.

Tatsumi: Augmented Reality? What’s that?

Nikko: Well, basically, it uses the PSP Camera to augment, or add  stuff to enhance your gaming experience. But more on that later. Today, we’re going to review the game itself, and not the technology used.

Tatsumi: XD

Nikko: Alrighty then… First up… Before you can play with an invizimal, you need to catch one first. We don’t use multi-colored balls in this game. Here, we use Trap cards and Field cards to lure the critters out of hiding and capture them.

InviZimal Trap card

Nikko: Field cards are just colored cards that I made, so I wouldn’t have to run around the house trying to look for specific color patterns. (Yes, I’m that lazy.)

Tatsumi: When you detect an Invizimal, you now get to trap and try to capture it. Here, I capture a Zephyra, a Panther-like InviZimal.

Tatsumi: Uhh… What happens if you mess up the capture?

Nikko: Unlike other games where you get to throw another ball at them, the Invizimals get to maul you and your PSP camera, and then they run away. If you want to catch them, you have to hunt and trap them all over again.

RAWR! I ARE MADZ!

Tatsumi: Yays, I caught an InviZimal!!! …Now what do I do with it?

Nikko: You could interact with your little, savage pets to deepen the bonds of friendship…

Zaphyra uses my finger for a pillow

Don’t be too rough on them, though. They fight back when threatened or hurt.

My Skytalon flies around the office, LOL

Tatsumi: Great! I’m friends with a savage, invisible panther kitten. Now what?

Nikko: Now, we battle!!!

Tatsumi: Great! I kick InviziButt! Now, I’m bored. Anything else going on, like an Elite 4 tourney or something?

Nikko: Bored? Don’t be. You can go online and battle it out with other InviZimal Hunters, just like yourself, catch rare InviZimals and play with them!

Go Online!

Catch rare InviZimals like this Uberjackal!

Try to collect them all…IF YOU CAN!!!

Well, This is Nikko Legaspi

Invizimals? Hell, yeah!

Let’s face it. Gaming has taken a huge leap in the last decade or so. More so than the last few decades put together.

I recently got a game for the PSP called “Invizimals.”

In this game, you play as an Invizimal Hunter, dragged into a power struggle with no explanation whatsoever. There you were, minding your own business when suddenly, your mentor finds himself in an Indian prison.

No, you don’t get to bust him out, but you do get to run around your room chasing invisible, super-powered creatures.

Confused? So am I.

Let’s start from the beginning. What is an Invizimal?

Game:

Invizimals are invisible creatures made up of pure energy. they live in our world, and are attracted to auras. Being made up of energy and invisible at the same time, they are very useful as stealth tools of war. That is what the main villain of the game wants to do.

IRL:

Invizimals are Augmented Reality programs spawned by the awesome combination of a PSP’s power and a PSP camera.

Gameplay wise, it’s a bit like Pokemon because you need to hunt down and capture / collect them all. Even the battle style and battle system is kinda like Pokemon, as well. you have 4 attacks and each attack has its own element.

So, what’s so different about this game?

You get to interact with your little pet in ways that Pokemon could only dream of.

Here’s a little pic for you guys. My little Zaphyra is playing around on my desk.

She’s begging you to scratch her tummy!

So, til next time, this is Nikko, signing out!

Those little spinning tops…

Well, as I don’t want to go making a new category every time I post, I’ll just put all toy infos under Raceday Saturdays.

Okay, who here hasn’t heard of BeyBlades? You know… those little plastic tops that annoy parents to no end, but amuse the kids of all ages? Well, I used to play with those, too… but that was a long time ago. All I have left of my Bey Collections are 3 fully functioning Beys and a box full of spare parts. Here, let me show you some of them.

My two most favorite Beys… my Driger HMS and my Driger V. Notice the attack ring and weight disk of my HMS. They’re striped. I did that because I have read that Zebras use their stripes as camouflage against predators, and when they are moving, the same stripes also confuse predators. Tigers, on the other hand, use their stripes to camouflage their bodies in tall grasses and also to confuse their prey. After I’ve painted my Driger HMS, the effect was so cool, I decided to keep it. It just became a blur of shadows! Here, I’ll show you what I mean…

Now, we have here a battle between a green Draciel and my black-striped Driger. It doesn’t seem much now, but just you wait until my Driger attacks!!!

The Draciel is rocked to the very core!!! The Driger HMS is using the Metal Slash attack!!! It won’t be long now before the effects of the stripes are seen!!!

And there it is!!! Driger HMS Metal Stealth attack!

It becomes just a blur of shadows while repeatedly smashing the opponent’s Bey to pieces!!! Bey attacks just don’t get any cooler than this! This is as close to a Bit Skill as possible without turning yourself into an anime!!!!!!!

September 6, 2007

It’s arrived! My new aquariums, 8 30-gallon tanks of 1/4″ thick glass…. Finally, I can get this shop on a brand new start…

My shop hasn’t been doing too well these days… the weather here being awful and all…. It rains at least once a day, everyday. The customers aren’t leaving their houses, and some even insist that I deliver their fish food to their doorsteps 3 blocks away… *sigh*

But now, the new tanks are here, I can stock even more fishies and expand my shop a little…. I know… I’ve been ranting…. But hey, If you listen well, you might even learn something from me.

Raceday Saturdays, yeah!

Just what are Raceday Saturdays? Well, for me, it’s a time off from the routines of life… You know… Running a shop, taking care of pets, writing a book, that sort of stuff. Racedays are the days when I relive my Early Teens… Back when I raced my Beat Magnum with the best of them… Entered tournaments, won and lost the said tournaments, had fun with friends who are now scattered all across the globe… Racedays are still fun. I get a lot of pleasure in helping the kids who come in my shop asking me to help them fix their little racers…

I’ll blog more about them in the future, but for now I’ll just post some pics of my collection of racers.

My Sonic vs my frien'd Phoenix

My Hurricane Sonic winning against my friend’s Fire Phoenix by 2 cm!!! This just shows that even 10 year old Tamiyas are still better than 1 day old Auldeys! ^__^

My Spin Cobra! Mechanical Series!!!

My baby…. Tamiya’s Spin Cobra. Mechanical 4wd series, a real collector’s item. After this one, the neighborhood store closed and I couldn’t find another one like it.

My collection of Tamiya M4WDs. It took me 10+ years just to complete just the set up till the MAX series. I’m still 5 racers short to complete the WGP series, and 2 to complete the GPA series.
